Hyper-reality - Post-modernism theory made by Baudrillard that warns of a world that becomes almost more real than reality, known as hyper-reality.

The post-modernism theory can be applied to Paris, thanks to the perception of the city people have created about it due to several forms of media. Many have not gone to Paris and do not know what it is like, yet they form their own idea of the city thanks to the things they hear about it from media sources, such as newspapers; for example, they may think it is extremely negative, when in reality it is a nice place to live. They form their own hyper-reality.

Industry Introduction

Lupin was released in January 2021 during the global pandemic when demand for home entertainment was high. The crime-thriller genre of the show offered escapism which was a distraction from the monotony of lockdown.

The drama's success in English-speaking countries, such as the USA, was partly due to it being immediately available in a dubbed version which would automatically play in English if the audience member was detected to be in an English-speaking country.
